Answer by well wisher GSK2118436 (dabrafenib) is a selective ATP-competitive BRAF inhibitor being developed for the treatment of BRAF V600E mutation malignant melanoma. Mutations in BRAF are associated with increased growth and proliferation of cancer cells. In clinical trials, GSK2118436 was administered orally at 150mg twice daily.
If licensed, GSK2118436 may provide an oral treatment option for this patient group, who currently have few effective treatment options.
